  16. Installation Instructions:

  18. •    To view the Mega Math Blaster Preview, double-click on the Mega Math Blaster Preview
  19.         icon.

  22. System Extensions:

  24. The Mega Math Blaster Preview requires QuickTime™ for Macintosh® to be installed on your system. QuickTime™ v2.5 is provided on the CD-ROM.

  26. To install QuickTime™:
  27. •    Double-click on the Kid Phonics 2 Preview CD-ROM.
  28. •    Open the QuickTime 2.5 Installer folder on the CD-ROM drive, and double-click the                      
  29.         Install QuickTime icon.
  30.                     -NOTE:  You may want to read the QuickTime ReadMe before installing     
  31.                                          QuickTime 2.5 on your machine. 
  32. •    Your Macintosh® will automatically install QuickTime 2.5, and place the files in the 
  33.         necessary folders in your Sytem folder.
  34. •    Once you have installed QuickTime™, you will need to restart your
  35.         Macintosh® for QuickTime™ to take effect.

  38.                                                                                                 Troubleshooting Issues
  39.  
  40. Performance Problems:
  41. If you are experiencing performace problems or your machine is locking up after 
  42. launching the Mega Math Blaster Preview, try the following:
  43.  
  44. •Copy the Mega Math Blaster Preview contents from the CD-ROM to your hard drive
  45.                             -you will need approximately 11MB free disk space
  46. •Go to "Get Info".  To get info:
  47.                             -select the  Preview icon
  48.                             -select "Get Info" from the File Menu or select "+I" (Apple and "I") 
  49.                             -if the box labeled "Locked" is checked, click to remove the "X"
  50.                             -change the minium memory requirement to 4096K
  51.                             -close the "Get Info" box
  52.               -launch the application
  53. •NOTE:  Once you launch the application and it runs, you can delete it from your hard 
  54. drive.  You should not have problems running the Mega Math Blaster Preview even 
  55. after rebooting.

  58. About Virtual Memory:
  59. We have generally found that performance degrades when Virtual Memory is on.  If 
  60. you have more than 8Mb of RAM we recommend turning Virtual Memory off. To turn 
  61. Virtual Memory off:
  62.  
  63. •    Select Control Panels under the Apple menu.
  64. •    Double-click on the Memory icon.
  65. •    Within the Virtual Memory section, turn Virtual Memory OFF.
  66. •    Restart the computer for the settings to take effect.
